There are specialized options for imaging beside of using the ProgRes® CapturePro microscope camera software. You can use the programs from our partners to create 3D images, manage images across different sites in databases or analyze images based on subject-specific criteria.

NIH (National Institutes of Health)
With the ImageJ plug-in ProgRes_Cam, ProgRes Kameras can easily be controlled. ImageJ is a royalty-free, open source, Java based image processing program, developed especially for scientific & medical image analysis by the National Institutes of Health (NIH, Bethesda, Maryland, USA).
Due to the open architecture, ImageJ can be extended with hundreds of Java plug-ins. Customer specific imaging solutions can be created with custom plug-ins for any tasks in image acquisition, image analysis and image processing with the ImageJ installation editor and the Java compiler. The ImageJ-Treiber supports al ProgRes Firewire-cameras (except ProgRes® C10plus/ C3) on Windows and MAC operating systems – as well as ProgRes® USB cameras on Windows operating systems. All registered users are welcome to download these drivers for free.
NOTE: driver version works only if ImageJ software version 1.43u is used

µManager is an open source software package for image acquisition and control of automatable microscopes on the operating systems Windows, MAC and Linux. LabView
LabView Control from National Instruments is very popular in universities. LabView is a graphical programming system for embedding ProgRes cameras in 3rd party software. The acronym stands for „Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Engineering Workbench“. The LabView driver supports ProgRes Firewire cameras and ProgRes USB cameras on Windows operating systems. All registered users are welcome to download these drivers for free.

For software developers and system integrators (OEM) we provide on request a free Software Development Kit (SDK) with sample programs for integrating our ProgRes cameras.
This provides the possibility for system integrators and OEM partners to optimally integrate our cameras in image acquisition / image processing systems or existing software environments or even to develop a new graphical user interface adapted to special requirements.
Programming language
The following programs are part of the SDK
- the example program „MexWin.exe“, with the ability to test nearly all functions without any programming effort in advance. The source code of the “MexWin.exe“ test program is also part of the SDK.
- the program "Camera TypeViewer", providing an easy and fast overview over the most important parameters of the ProgRes® cameras, and hence offering even simpler integration.
- our "MexLogMan" allows fast, easy and in particular targeted search for errors in testing the source code.
Control parameters
The following parameters can be controlled by the SDK sample program „MexWin.exe“ without any programming efforts:
- Full control of exposure time, gamma, saturation, gain factor (analogue and digital), white reference
- Image resolution for Live & Capture
- Storage of captured images in .tiff, .RAW, .bmp file format
- Color-Processing (selection of various color matrixes / color interpolation algorithms)
- Control of the Peltier element (on / off)
- Firmware updates
- Creation of individual shading files (white- and black-shading)
- Control of read-out speed of the image sensor, which provides control of image quality
- Full control of camera trigger functionalities
- Control of 4 cameras at the same time (display of 4 live images simultaneously is possible)
- “CxxWin.exe“ allows for continuous exposure metering (source code is provided)
Operating systems / camera support:
The Windows SDK supports ALL Jenoptik imaging products and ProgRes cameras under Windows XP / VISTA / Windows 7 / Windows 8 / 8.1.The Software Development Kit for Apple Macintosh supports the FireWire-based Imaging Modules and ProgRes® cameras (MAC OS 10.4 / 10.5/ 10.6).
The Linux SDK supports the FireWire models of the Jenoptik imaging products and ProgRes Firewire cameras (Linux Ubunto 12.04 LTS).
